Music facts, music trivia, interesting stories and much more. Introducing the "Did You Know" page about American musical duo, Twenty One Pilots.
Enjoy!
Twenty One Pilots is an American musical duo from Columbus, Ohio.
Tyler Joseph is the lead singer of the duo, but he also contributes percussion, bass, piano, and ukulele. Josh Dun mostly handles the rhythm section, often triggering prerecorded tracks to augment the sound.
Another interesting fact is that Joseph was home schooled for a while, which included training in basketball. His mother made him take 500 shots each and every day, and he was even offered a basketball scholarship to Otterbein University, but decided to turn it down in order to pursue music.
Twenty One Pilots actually started out as a trio with Joseph and two of his high school friends, Chris Salih and Nick Thomas, but when the two left the group in 2011, Josh Dun joined the group and Twenty One Pilots became a duo.
Twenty One Pilots are known for their successful singles "Ride", "Stressed Out", "Heathens" and in 2017 have won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
