Enjoy!

Thompson Twins were a British pop band that were formed in 1977 in Sheffield and were active until 1993. They first started as a new wave band, but changed their music style to a more mainstream pop sound, which helped them achieve considerable popularity from 1983, scoring successful hit songs in the UK, the US, and worldwide.

Thompson Twins were named after the two bumbling detectives Thomson and Thompson in Hergé's comic strip The Adventures of Tintin. At one point of their music career, the group consisted of seven members, but their most known lineup was as a trio between the years 1982 and 1986.

Thompson Twins band members Tom Bailey and Alannah Currie were a couple, got married in 1991 and had two children together. They wrote what would become one of the band's most successful songs, "Hold Me Now," after a heated argument that they were able to eventually resolve.

The song has such permanence in part because it was triggered by a real relationship. Over the course of its 3:09 running time, the song takes us through Tom Bailey's desperate pleas, as he is not even sure what caused this damage or what he needs to apologize for. Bailey, however, is eager to work through their problems and move on. In the chorus of the song, Bailey asks Currie to hold him, stay with him and love him again.
