1967: 'More Of The Monkees', the second album by The Monkees, topped the UK charts. In 1967, only four albums topped the charts: 'The Sound Of Music' which spent 17 weeks at the top, The Beatles Sgt. Pepper which spent 25 weeks at the top and The Monkees first and second albums which spent 9 weeks at the top of the charts.

1967: The Supremes scored their 10th US No.1 single with 'The Happening', which also reached the No.6 spot in the UK. The song was the last single that was released as the Supremes, as from now on the girls were known as Diana Ross and the Supremes.

1969: Led Zeppelin became one of the first major British rock group that appeared in Hawaii, when they performed at The Civic Auditorium, Honolulu. A review in the Honolulu Advertiser stated that the showmanship exceeded any rock performance in Hawaii to that day. The reporter wondered before the concert if they could sound as good as their Atlantic album, and stated that they actually sounded ever better.

1970: The world premiere of 'Let It Be', a film by The Beatles, took place in New York City. The film was originally planned as a television documentary and features an unannounced rooftop concert by the band, whic was the last performance of The Beatles in public. It was released shortly after the release of the album and was the final original Beatles release.

1978: Boney M. topped the UK singles chart with the song 'Rivers of Babylon', and went to spend five weeks at the top of the charts. The song was originally by the Jamaican reggae group The Melodians, and their version of the song appeared in the soundtrack to the movie The Harder They Come from 1972.

1988: Fairground Attraction topped the UK singles charts with the song 'Perfect'. The band featured Eddi Reader who had worked before as a backing singer with the Eurythmics and Sandie Shaw. The song won the award for Best Single at the 1989 BRIT Awards.
1989: Kylie Minogue topped the UK singles chart with her second solo No.1 hit, 'Hand On Your Heart.' The song was written and produced by Stock, Aitken & Waterman.

1989: Simple Minds topped the UK album chart with 'Street Fighting Years', the band's fourth No.1 album. It features the songs 'Belfast Child', 'Mandela Day' and 'Biko'.
