1966: The Beatles released the ‘Nowhere Man’ 4-track EP in the UK. It included: ‘Michelle’, ‘Drive My Car’ and ‘You Won't See Me’. All four tracks appear on Rubber Soul album, the band's sixth UK studio album.

1967: The Monkees started a 29-date tour with The Jimi Hendrix Experience supporting them. However, Hendrix was dropped after only six shows. He was told that his act wasn't suitable for their teenybopper audience.

1972: Bill Withers started a three week run at the top of the US singles chart with the song 'Lean On Me'. It was Withers only No.1 hit, which reached the No.18 spot in the UK.
1972: Donny Osmond topped the UK singles chart with his version to the song 'Puppy Love', originally by Paul Anka. It was the first of three solo No.1 hits for him.

1979: The B-52's made their UK live debut at London's Lyceum Ballroom. The Tourists supported their act.

1995: TLC started a seven week run at the top of the US singles chart with the song 'Waterfalls', their second US No.1. The single reached the No.4 spot on the UK chart.
1999: Nigel Martin Smith, the former manager of Take That, started a new business, as an undertaker. It seems that Smith wasn't happy with a service he had used, so he decided to buy a local funeral firm in Manchester.
