1958: The Everly Brothers topped the UK singles chart with the song 'All I Have To Do Is Dream.' The song was recorded in only two takes and features Chet Atkins on guitar. The song was written by husband and wife Boudleaux and Felice Bryant.
1964: The Beach Boys started a two week run at the top of the US singles chart with the song 'I Get Around'. It was the band's first No.1 hit, which also reached the No.7 spot in the UK. It is noteworthy for its back-to-front structure, as it starts with a chorus and has two short verses.

1971: Donald McPherson, who was the lead singer of Main Ingredient, died of at the age of 30 of leukaemia. He Had the hit song 'Everybody Plays the Fool' in 1972.

1976: The Clash made their live debut at the Black Swan, Sheffield, England. They supported the Sex Pistols in their debut show.
2003: Barry White, american record producer, singer and songwriter, who won the Grammy Award five times, died at the age of 58 from Kidney failure. White produced hits for the band Love Unlimited as well as other chart hits like: 'You're The First, The Last, My Everything' from 1974, 'Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe' and more.
2009: Allen Klein, the former manager of The Rolling Stones and then of The Beatles died at the age of 77 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. The assets of his company, ABKCO Music & Records, include recordings by The Animals, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Herman's Hermits, Chubby Checker, Bobby Womack, Bobby Rydell and more.
