1968: Paul McCartney was at a friend's house when he was surprised to hear in the news Jane Asher's announcement about her engagement to him being off. It is said that she was an inspiration to many of McCartney's songs, such as: 'All My Loving', 'And I Love Her', and 'We Can Work It Out'. She went on to have a career in films and television and also became a successful author and business woman. Paul McCartney has done well for himself as well...

 

1976: Buzzcocks made their live debut by supporting the Sex Pistols and Slaughter & The Dogs at The Lesser Free Trade Hall, Manchester. Some of the attendance in the audience were: Morrissey, Peter Hook (soon forming Joy Division) and Mark E Smith, (The Fall), Mick Hucknall and Bernard Sumner. Tickets back then cost £1. 1986: Carlos Santana celebrated his 39th birthday, and 20th anniversary in the music business. This celebration consisted of a concert in San Francisco. Previous group members were especially assembled for this event, as 17 of them performed together on stage for a memorable night.

1995: Public Enemy member Flavor Flav was involved in a motorcycle accident in Milan, which resulted in two broken arms. Ouch...

2000: The Evergreen Ballroom in Lacey, Washington was destroyed by a fire. During the 1950s-1970s, the ballroom saw many great plays there by top musicians and performers like: Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Duke Ellington, Chuck Berry, Ike & Tina Turner, Fats Domino and Little Richard. Also, before becoming famous, Glen Campbell had lived in the kitchen at that venue.

 

2008: Rapper DMX was arrested on suspicion after giving a false name in order to get out of paying for hospital medical expenses. County Sheriff, Joe Arpaio, said the rapper told Mayo Clinic in Arizona that his actual name was Troy Jones but failed to pay the bill of $7,500 in April. Earl Simmons (real name of DMX) was arrested at a shopping centre in Phoenix, Arizona.
