1968: The Band Of Joy, which featured John Bonham and Robert Plant, made their first London appearance, as they supported Edwin Starr at the The Marquee Club in London, England. The Marquee was witness to the London scene of the late 60's, represented at the club by bands like the Move, The Syn, Pink Floyd, (who played the club many times), Neat Change, The In Crowd, Soft Machine and Arthur Brown.

1975: Bob Dylan topped the US chart with Blood On The Tracks, his 15th studio album and second US No.1 album. The album has become one of Bob Dylan's all-time best-selling studio albums, with a double-platinum US certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.

1981: R.E.M. made their first ever-recording sessions at Bombay Studios Smyrna, Georgia. The tracks they were working on were: 'Gardening At Night', 'Radio Free Europe' and '(Don't Go Back To) Rockville.'
1986: Billy Ocean started a four week run at the top of the UK singles chart with his song 'When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going', as featured in the film 'The Jewel Of The Nile.' The video was actually banned in the UK because it featured non-musician union members.

1992: UK band Right Said Fred started a three-week run at the top of the US singles chart with 'I'm Too Sexy', also a No.2 hit in the UK.

2005: drummer of The Doobie Brothers, Keith Knudson, died of pneumonia at the age of 56. They Scored the 1979 US No.1 hit 'What A Fool Believes' and the 1993 UK No.7 hit 'Long Train Runnin.'
