1966: Tara Browne was killed when he drove at high speed in his Lotus Elan and collided with into a parked lorry in South Kensington, London. Browne was a close friend of Mick Jagger and Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, and his death was immortalized in The Beatles song ‘A Day In The Life’ after John Lennon read a report on the coroner's verdict into Browne's death.
1971: Sly and the Family Stone topped the US album chart with 'There's A Riot Going On', their fifth studio album.
1982: Hall and Oates began a four week run at the top of the US singles chart with 'Maneater', the duo's 5th US No.1 and also their biggest hit in the UK, reaching the No.6 spot in the chart.

1982: UK-based Italian tenor and English girl Renee And Renato reached the No.1 spot on the UK singles chart with 'Save Your Love', the duo's only UK Top 40 hit and the year's Christmas No.1.
1988: Mike Peters of The Alarm was rushed to hospital after his eyes burnt by spotlights during a concert in Chester. This incident caused the remaining dates on their UK tour to be cancelled.

2015: A US medical examiner said that Scott Weiland, frontman of Stone Temple Pilots, died from a toxic mix of drugs including cocaine, alcohol and ecstasy. Weiland, who was 48 years old, rose to fame with the Stone Temple Pilots was found dead on his tour bus outside a hotel in Bloomington, Minneapolis, on 3 December of this year.
