Enjoy!
The House of Love are an English alternative rock band that was formed in 1986 in London by Guy Chadwick (vocals, songwriter, guitar) and co-founder Terry Bickers (lead guitar). The band rose to fame in 1987 with the release of "Shine On", their first single, which was released on the independent label Creation.
The song "Shine On" was written by vocalist Guy Chadwick, but initially failed to reach the UK Top 100. In early 1990, the song was re-recorded, produced by Tim Palmer and re-released. This time, "Shine On" peaked at #20 in the UK, #24 in Ireland and #171 in Australia.
"Shine On" is also used for skateboarder Corey Duffel's part in the Osiris shoes video feed The Need as well as featuring in Trigger Happy TV series 1.
The band is best known for their detailed psychedelic guitar sound and also for other successful singles like "Destroy the Heart" and "Christine". The band's songs "Marble", "You Don't Understand" and "I Don't Know Why I Love You" were also very popular on alternative rock radio stations in the US, reaching high places on the Billboard Modern Rock chart.
