The Chemical Brothers are an English electronic music duo that was formed in 1989 in Manchester. They are Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands.
Along with bands like Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy, The Crystal Method and others, The Chemical Brothers were pioneers at bringing the big beat genre to the forefront of pop culture. In the UK, than band has had six No.1 albums and 13 top 20 singles, including two No.1s.
Tim Rowlands said that the first album by Public Enemy changed his life. He described Enemy's song "Miuzi Weighs A Ton" as the most amazing track he has ever heard.
From that moment on, Rowlands started collecting hip-hop recoeds and also started djing with Ed Simons, who was his childhood friend. From there on, The Chemical Brothers were born and soon took the stage by (electronic) storm.
