But, ever wondered about Sheryl Crow before she became famous? So, it goes like this: Sheryl Crow grew up in a rural Missouri town and graduated from the university of Missouri with a degree in classical music in 1984.
Her first job when she graduated was teaching music at an elementary school in St. Louis. In 1986, Crow decided to move to Los Angeles where she waited tables before landing a gig as a backup singer on Michael Jackson's Bad tour.
Sheryl Crow was also a backup singer on tours for Joe Cocker, George Harrison and Rod Stewart, before she started her own solo career. Crow gained a lot of exposure when in 1994 she opened for The Eagles on the band's reunion tour, and was also a backup singer on Don Henley's album The End Of The Innocence.
Sheryl Crow has sold over 50 million albums all over the world and has won 9 Grammy Awards out of 32 nominations.

Sheryl Crow said that they were just jamming in the studio, and she picked up this poem from a book, titled Fun. The first line in the poem was 'All I wanna do is have some fun.'
It encapsulated what was going on in L.A., a real extreme feeling of apathy and defeat. It's about somebody down and out, sitting in a bar and watching their life go by.
Shryl Crow then contacted the poet, who was really pleased. The song itself was easy for Crow, as she felt it was a character she could easily slip into, because there was a lot of drinking going on in her life then, a lot of late-night bars.
Sheryl Crow never planned it to become an album, but her little brother kept saying that this is a big hit. The song "All I Wanna Do" was indeed a big hit and reached the No.2 spot on the US chart and the No.4 spot on the UK chart.
