Enjoy!
Red Hot Chili Peppers are an American funk rock band that was formed in 1983 in Los Angeles. The band's musical style consists of rock with an emphasis on funk, as well as psychedelic rock and punk rock.
At this time, Red Hot Chili Peppers consists of Anthony Kiedis (lead vocals), Flea (bass), Chad Smith (drums) and former touring guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.
Our interesting fact of the day talks about an interesting touring habit the band shows during concerts. It seems that Red Hot Chili Peppers has a trademark, when during live concerts, the band members play onstage completely naked, except for one strategically placed tube sock.
This bit began in the early '80s, when the band played gigs at a strip club called "The Kit Kat", and it quickly became the most anticipated part of the band's act.
In their later years, the band members begam wearing pants onstage, yet still shirtless. At the Woodstock concert in 1999, Flea performed completely naked.
Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the best-selling bands of all time, selling more than 80 million records all over the world. They have been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards, winning 6, and are considered as the most successful band in alternative rock radio history.
The band also holds the records for most number-one singles (13 No.1's), most cumulative weeks at No.1 (85) and most top-ten songs (25 top 10 songs) on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
In 2012, Red Hot Chili Peppers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The song "Under The Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers was written by Anthony Kiedis, lead singer of the band, about his days as a heroin addict and the loneliness that went with it. The bridge mentioned in the song is a place where Kiedis sometimes went in order to buy drugs and get high.
"Under The Bridge" was the band's biggest hit, but it wasn't typical of their sound. This song was a ballad, when most of their songs to that point were funk or hard rock.
They became comfortable with the sound and followed this up with more slower singles like "Breaking The Girl" and "Soul to Squeez."

The song "Breaking The Girl" by Red Hot Chili Peppers was written by Anthony Kiedis about Carmen Hawk, a model he dated. The song describes their tumultuous breakup as he severed the relationship, and thus, "breaking the girl."
As Kiedis points out in the song, Hawk didn't do anything wrong, but he still had to cut her loose.
The instrumental breakdown that can be heard about 3 minutes into the song was a spontaneous idea that the band members came up with while they were recording the song. Every band member took something and used it for percussion, even pans and pots, and this way they held a jam session.
