The song "Another Day In Paradise" by Phil Collins began at the piano.
Collins started playing and put it down on a tape so he wouldn't forget it. Then, he decided to see what would happen when he started singing.
When Collins began singing, the words just came out. He didn't intend to write a song about the homeless. Those were just the words he happened to sing.
It was only then that Collins decided that was what the song would be about, as the song addresses the consequences of ignoring the homeless and the needy.
