Paul Anka is a Canadian singer, songwriter and actor who became famous during the late 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s with hit songs like: "Put Your Head on My Shoulder", "Diana", "(You're) Having My Baby" and "Lonely Boy."
In 1968, Paul Anka wrote Frank Sinatra's signature song "My Way." At the time, Anka was struggling to sell records as an artist, so he was pitching the best songs he wrote to other musicians and singers.
Tom Jones also had a hit song that was written by Paul Anka, his 1971 hit, "She's a Lady." Anka also wrote "It Doesn't Matter Anymore," which Buddy Holly recorded in his last session. The song became a huge hit after Holly died and so, Paul Anka decided to give his royalties to Holly's wife.
Paul Anka also wrote the theme for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and co-wrote the song "I Never Heard" with Michael Jackson in 1983.
In 1990, Paul Anka Anka became a naturalized US citizen.
