Enjoy!
Mika (real name: Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr.) is a Lebanese-born English singer, songwriter and recording artist.
Mika's song "Relax (Take It Easy)" borrows its melody from the Cutting Crew hit single "(I Just) Died In Your Arms." Nick Van Eede of the Cutting Crew said that he never noticed anything, until 150 fans started writing and pointing out the similarities.
Nick Van Eede is pretty sure that Mika stumbled in to it accidentally and joked around that he is proud to co-write Mika's song. The song originally had a limited 7" vinyl release in the UK in 2006, but it failed to chart.
In the summer of 2007, the song was released as a single in Europe and it topped the charts in various countries.
Mika's first full-length studio album, Life in Cartoon Motion, was released in 2007 and sold more than 5.6 million copies all over the world. He won a Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough act, and was also nominated for a Grammy Award. Mike later topped the UK Singles Chart with the song "Grace Kelly" in January 2007.
