Music facts, music trivia, interesting stories and much more. Introducing the "Did You Know" page about American rap rock band, Limp Bizkit.
Enjoy!
Limp Bizkit is an American rap rock band that was formed in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida. The band consists of Fred Durst (lead vocals), Wes Borland (guitars, backing vocals), Sam Rivers (bass, backing vocals), John Otto (drums, percussion) and DJ Lethal (turntables).
Limp Bizkit is characterised by the angry vocal of Fred Durst and Wes Borland's sonic experimentation, as well as his visual appearance, which includes face and body paint, uniforms and masks.
During their music career, Limp Bizkit had two #1 albums in America, but no Top 40 hits. This division between chart success and album sales demonstrates how Limp Bizkit was ignored by radio stations despite the popularity of the band.
Limp Bizkit was considered playlist poison, since for every Limp Bizkit fan, there were many other listeners who couldn't stand the band's music. The sound of Limp Bizkit didn't play well alongside the traditional hits, so only the most daring rock stations gave the band any chance and love and played their music.
Limp Bizkit was nominated three times for the Grammy Award, and have sold approximately 40 million records all over the world.
