Lady Gaga (real name: Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) is an American singer, actress and songwriter. Lady Gaga is known for her unconventionality and provocative work and her visual experimentation.
Lady Gaga claims that she first learned to play piano by ear at the age of 4, and wrote her first piano ballad when she was 13 years old. After she dropped out of college, Lady Gaga started performing as a burlesque and was able to make a name for herself playing gigs at downtown Manhattan club venues.
Before Lady Gaga became an internationally famous star, she was an apprentice songwriter under an internship at Famous Music Publishing. She used to write songs for popular and successful artists, like Britney Spears, The Pussycat Dolls, Fergie and New Kids On The Block.
As of 2016, Lady Gaga has sold approximate 27 million albums and 146 million singles, making her one of the best-selling music artists in history. She has won many awards, including 6 Grammy Awards, Guinness World Records, three Brit Awards and also an award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
