Kelly Clarkson is an American singer, songwriter, and television personality.
As a teenager, Clarkson performed at the theme part Six Flags over Texas. She has also made a demo tape and dreamed of moving to Los Angeles or New York to pursue a career in music, and eventually, she got her opportunity in 2001, when a girl that she was working with moved to Los Angeles and needed a roommate.
Clarkson's dreams were crushed when she went broke, but after returning to Texas, she auditioned for a new show called American Idol, which worked out well for her. She won the the inaugural season of the reality competition television series American Idol, which earned her a record deal with RCA Records.
Clarkson's debut single, "A Moment Like This", topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and also became the best-selling single of 2002 in the US. Clarkson then followed by releasing her debut album, Thankful in 2003, which debuted atop the US Billboard 200.
Overall and to this day, Clarkson has had three No.1 hits, eleven in the Top 10 and 27 songs in the Hot 100 Billboard charts. She have won numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, four American Music Awards, and two Academy of Country Music Awards.
According to Billboard, she is one of pop music's greatest singers and was honored by Billboaed with the Powerhouse Award for her vocals. Clarkson was also ranked nineteenth on VH1's list of 100 Greatest Women in Music.
Kelly Clarkson has sold more than 25 million albums and 45 million singles all over the world.
