Foals are a British rock band that was formed in 2005 in Oxford, England and consists of of Yannis Philippakis (lead vocals, lead guitar), Jack Bevan (drums, percussion), Jimmy Smith (rhythm guitar), and Edwin Congreave (keyboard).
The band's song "Exits" conjures the imagery of a dystopian future, inspired by tech billionaires who are buying bunkers in New Zealand. The song started off as a jam between Edwin Congreave and Jack Bevan, before the other band members joined in and got locked into the groove.
The band members are huge fans of the band Talk Talk, and they felt like it had the energy of their song "Life's What You Make It."
Foals have won several awards, amomg them are best live act at the 2013 Q Awards while producers Alan Moulder and Flood were awarded 'UK Producer Of The Year' for their work on the album Holy Fire.
