The song "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurythmics is about the search for fulfillment, and the "sweet dreams" in the song are the desires that motivate us.
The song was written just after Lennox and Stewart had a bitter fight. Lennox thought that this was the end of their relationship, and was trying to write the song, but was miserable.
Stewart decided to try and do this anyway, so, he came up with the beat, while Lennox improvised the synthesizer riff, and suddenly they realized they had a potential hit.

Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox wrote the song "Here Comes The Rain Again" when they were staying at the Mayflower hotel in New York City.
It was an overcast day. Lennox was sitting in Stewart's room, and he was playing some little riff on the keyboard, sitting on the window ledge. Lennox was looking out the window at the slate grey sky above the New York skyline, and just began singing spontaneously, 'here comes the rain again.'
The song "Here Comes The Rain Again" was recorded in an old church that was converted into a studio.
