Enrique Iglesias (real name: Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler) is a Spanish singer, songwriter, record producer and actor, and is widely regarded as the King of Latin Pop.
Here are a few interesting facts about Enrique Iglesias:
1. His parents split when he was 13 years old and he moved from Madrid, Spain to Miami, USA, where he started his singing career in the mid-1990s on an American Spanish-language record label Fonovisa Records under the stage name Enrique Martinez. Later on, he changed the name and statred using his surname, Iglesias.
2. Iglesias has got a pilot's license. He started taking pilot lessons in 2002, in order to get over his fear of flying.
3. His eighth No.1 single on the Billboard Dance Chart, "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)", made him the artist with most No.1 songs among solo male artists in the history of the chart, surpassing even Michael Jackson and Prince.
Enrique Iglesias has sold more than 170 million records (albums and singles combined) all over the world, which makes him one of the best-selling Spanish artists ever.
He has scored more than 150 No.1 songs across all of the Billboard charts, scored five Billboard Hot 100 top five singles, including two No.1's, and holds the record for producing no less than 27 No.1 Spanish-language singles on the Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks.
