Dr. Alban (real name: Alban Uzoma Nwapa) is a Swedish musician and producer that was born in Nigeria. His style of music is categorized as a Eurodance/hip-hop reggae with a style of dancehall. He also has his own record label by the name of Dr. Records.
Dr. Alban was born into a middle-class family of 10 children in Nigeria and at the age of 23, he decided to travel to Sweden in order to study dentistry. In order to be able to finance his studies, Dr. Alban became a DJ at the Stockholm club Alphabet Street.
His name became widely known and it was DJ Rene Hedemyr that discovered him. Eventually, Dr. Alban finished his studies and even opened his own dentistry, yet kept his disk jockeying as a lucrative sideline.
Dr. Alban's most known and successful songs include the songs: "It's My Life" and "Sing Hallelujah" and it is estimated that he sold 16 million records all over the world.
