Christina Aguilera is an American actress, singer, songwriter and television personality.
Her major hit song, "Genie in a Bottle," caused some controversy when it was released, as Christina was only 18 years old at the time, quite young to be singing such a racy song, particularly as her music was marked to young girls.
Aguilera explained, that it is a bit suggestive, but in a positive way. It's all about a girl who's a little sassy and likes to play hard to get, but equally wants sincerity in a relationship. The lyric in the song "My body's saying let's go, but my heart is saying no" emphasizes her point.
Two of Christina Aguilera's albums topped the US Billboard 200 (her 1999 debut album and the 2006 Back to Basics album), with more of her albums (Stripped from 2002, Bionic from 2010, Lotus from 2012 and Liberation from 2018) reaching the top 10 on the U.S. chart.
Christina Aguilera has won various awards during her music career, among them are 5 Grammy Awards and one Latin Grammy Award, and has earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Aguilera has sold over 75 million albums and singles all over the world, which makes her one of the world's best-selling music artists. She is ranked at the No.58 spot on Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Singers of All Time from 2009, which makes her the youngest and the only artist under the age of 30 to be named.
