Enjoy!
Bruce Springsteen (Nicknamed "The Boss") is an American singer and songwriter, known for his work with the E Street Band.
Bruce Springsteen is widely known for his brand of poetic lyrics, Americana, working class, political sentiments centered on his native New Jersey and more.
He has a very distinctive voice, and his performances and concerts are long and energetic, from the 1970s to the present day, concerts which are running at up to four hours in length.
We are used to read about jobs and occupations musicians had before finding glory and becoming famous, but this is not the case with "The Boss", Bruce Springsteen.
Believe it or not, but Bruce Springsteen never had a job in his life besides making and playing music. He grew up hearing singer Frank Sinatra (also from New Jersey) on the radio and became interested in being involved in music himself.
In 1956 at the age of seven, Springsteen saw Elvis Presley perform on The Ed Sullivan Show and in 1964, he bought his first guitar for $18. This was an important year for Springsteen, because he saw The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show, and right after, he started playing for audiences with a band called the Rogues.
As for his known nickname "The Boss", Springsteen actually hates it. It was given to him by by overwhelmed musicians in Asbury Park, New Jersey, in the early '70s.
I guess concentrating only on music was worth while for Springsteen, as he has sold over 140 million records worldwide and more than 64 million records in US, which made him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time.
Springsteen has earned numerous awards during his music career, including no less than 20 Grammy Awards, 2 Golden Globes, and even an Academy Award.
He was inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1999.
In 2009, he was a Kennedy Center Honors recipient, in 2013 he was named MusiCares person of the year, and in 2016, Springsteen was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Bruce Springsteen wrote the song "Dancing in the Dark" about his difficulty writing a hit single and his frustration trying to write songs that will please people.
Springsteen's struggles pour out in the lyric, where he feels like a hired gun dying for some action. Ironically, the song "Dancing in the Dark" became a hit single, and was the biggest of Springsteen's career in terms of US chart position.
