Beck Hansen (born Bek David Campbell) and known professionally as Beck, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Beck is mostly known for his musical composition, as well as a palette of sonic genres.
Beck rose to fame in the early 1990s with his experimental and lo-fi style. He became known for creating musical collages of wide genre styles. Now days, he musically encompasses funk, soul, folk, electronic, hip hop, alternative rock, psychedelia and country.
The interesting fact of the day is about his famous song "Loser." Beck got the idea for the song Loser from his friend who always called him "Loser."
He then decided to write it into a chorus of a song as a joke, and didn't think anything would ever come of it.
Beck recorded the song in 1993 after the owner of Bong Load Records spotted him in Los Angeles and offered him some studio time. At the time, Beck was broke and was playing at local coffeehouses in order to make a living.
Since those days, Beck has released 13 studio albums, releasing 3 albums independently, as well as several non-album singles and a book of sheet music.
