The Backstreet Boys are an American pop group that was formed in 1993 in Orlando, Florida and consists of AJ McLean, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson.
If you ever wondered about the origin of the band's name, there are several rumors sorrounding the name "Backstreet Boys". There are sources that claim that the name comes from a favorite restaurant in Orlando, frequented by the band members, a restaurant that Brian Littrell discovered. The restaurant was called Backstreet. Others suggest the name "Backstreet Boys" was taken from the backstreet flea market, which is a popular hangout spot in Orlando.
Backstreet Boys rose to fame with the release of their debut album, Backstreet Boys in 1996. In 1997, they released their second album Backstreet's Back, and this continued the band's great success all over tge world. Eventually, Backstreet Boys rose to superstardom with the release of their third studio album, Millennium in 1999, as well as its follow-up album, Black & Blue in 2000.
Backstreet Boys are the first group since Sade that had their first nine albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, and according to Billboard they are also the best-selling boy band of all time, selling over 130 million records all over the world, which makes them one of the world's best-selling music artists.
