Air Supply are an English-Australian soft rock duo, consisting of English singer, songwriter and guitarist, Graham Russell and Australian lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock.
Here are a few interesting facts about Air Supply:
1. Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock formed Air Supply after they both performed in a 1975 Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
2. They are from Melbourne, Australia, and had some hits there, when their song "Lost in Love" got the attention of Clive Davis at Arista Records. He signed them and helped make the two a hit machine in America, where they scored 8 songs in the Top 5.
3. The name Air Supply was chosen as a contrast to heavy metal.
4. Air Supply is very popular in Southeast Asia, where their songs are karaoke favorites.
On 1 December 2013, Air Supply was inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).
