A Perfect Circle is an American rock supergroup that was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1999 by Billy Howerdel (guitar) and Maynard James Keenan (vocals), and to this day the band has released 4 studio albums.
Here are a few interesting facts about A Perfect Circle:
1. Guitarist of the band, Billy Howerdel, was the guitar technician for Nine Inch Nails, and when he left, Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails gave him several classic guitars as a "thank-you" gift.
2. Singer of the band, Maynard James Keenan, is also a master winemaker. His great uncle and grandparents made wine in Italy before they came to America.
3. Guitaris of the band, James Iha, owns a recording studio in Manhattan called Stratosphere Sound, and some of the acts and bands that he had recorded at the studio are: R.E.M., Moby, Keith Urban, The B52's and others.
Despite the different lineup changes that the band went through, the stylistic content of the band's songs songs has remained consistent with Howerdel being the music composer, and Keenan who writes the lyrics and vocal melodies.
The albums of A Perfect Circle have been generally well received critically and commercially, with their studio albums selling as of 2005 around 4 million copies.
